Maui vacationers face hard-to-get restaurant and activity reservations, new entry rules at state parks and other issues this summer as travel surges.

Travelers report lingering wait times of several hours, but Delta CEO Ed Bastian said the average hold time is one hour, which is “way too long.”

The airline said it proactively canceled flights ahead of expected summer storms, but rivals have not canceled flights at the same rate.

Travelers will have to upload their vaccination card to Hawaii’s Safe Travels website and bring a hard copy.
